Biography
I was born and raised in Saudi Arabia. I received my Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Manchester, UK, where I specialized in communications and robotics.
For the past 7 years I have worked for Saudi Aramco, Saudi Arabia's national oil company. I dabbled on many things starting with changing printer cartridges at local company-built schools (!!!) to designing and implementing highly secure disaster recovery solutions for extremely sensitive data! Between all of that, I worked as a developer, system administrator, network engineer, data architect, and solution architect. For the past 3 years, I have led a team responsible for deploying and maintaining the business intelligence infrastructure for the Exploration and Producing organiztion.
I was also heavily engaged in corporate activities and professional societies such as Toastmasters, and Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). Last year, I was selected as a member of a team of young professionals to work with corporate teams on company-wide transformational efforts. The team acted as a voice of the youth and a sounding board to corporate leaders.
On a personal note, I am big fan of Manchester United (The football team…the round football that the whole world plays). I am also a certified PADI diver.
Useless trivia: I was voted the loudest student in the faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Manchester… I am working on it:)
