Biography

Stephan von Watzdorf is a PhD candidate at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich) at the Department of Management, Technology, and Economics and a senior researcher at the Insurance Lab (I-Lab) which is a joint initiative by the ETH Zurich and the University of St. Gallen since April 2008. In addition he is a visiting scholar at the School of Information at the University of California Berkeley (UC Berkeley) since January 2011.

Stephan von Watzdorf studied at the Technische Universtität Darmstadt (TUD), the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and graduated from the Technische Universität München (TUM) with the predicate "excellent" in 2007. During his studies he received a scholarships for the Manage&More entrepreneurship program from the UnternehmerTUM and founded a spin-off with O2 Germany. Furthermore he gathered working experience with EMC in Frankfurt, Germany, opus 5 in Barcelona, Spain, and Siemens in Princeton, USA.
