Biography

Michael was most recently the Senior Vice President and acting Chief Marketing Officer for Time Warner Cable. Prior to his work in marketing, strategy, and operations at Time Warner Cable, he held positions covering long-range planning, digital business strategy, and international investments for Time Warner Inc., after having worked as a management consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, following an early career in theater management.  

Michael's professional work has been focused on deriving and leveraging actionable insights from qualitative and quantitative data; an early promoter of the role of data visualization and storytelling in helping to discover and communicate new ideas; and an active supporter of the role of data science in business decision making.

Michael has taught and guest lectured at Yale and Columbia, and has organized or presented keynote speeches at a number of industry conferences and corporate training programs.  In the Fall of 2017, he will be teaching Marketing Management to Executive MBAs.

Michael holds a B.A. (Hons) from Oxford University, in English Language and Literature; an MFA from Yale University, School of Drama, in Theatre Management; and an MBA (with distinction) from London Business School.   

He is passionate about marketing, strategy, insights, data, analytics and storytelling in all its forms, and delighted to be part of the MIDS program at Berkeley.
