Women in MIDS: New Product Development and Design Control in the Medical Device Industry
Open to all women-identifying MIDS students and faculty.
Join us for a seminar with Dr. Radia Wahab (MIDS ’23), a technical leader in medical device innovation, now focused on solving cancer with data.
Dr. Wahab holds a Ph.D. in bioengineering, a master’s degree in data science, and an M.S. in electrical engineering, with over 20 years of experience in academia and industry. Her research includes drug delivery systems, non-invasive diagnostics, ultrasound neuromodulation, and traumatic brain injury studies, contributing to innovations like oral alternatives to injections. She has led the development and launch of transformative medical devices.
Currently, as associate director of systems engineering in bioinformatics assay automation, Dr. Wahab focuses on cancer research, utilizing her interdisciplinary background to advance early cancer detection. Her work has led to the launch of an FDA-approved blood-based cancer screening product.
