OASIS, the international e-business standards consortium, has announced that Bob Glushko of the University of California at Berkeley has been elected to the Board of Directors. Working with fellow directors, members, and staff, Glushko will provide business leadership to advance OASIS as a major standards-setting body for Web services, e-business, security, and other applications.
Bob Glushko, an Adjunct Professor in the I School, has been a member of OASIS since the consortium was founded as SGML Open in 1993. Glushko directs Berkeley's Center for Document Engineering and teaches at the I School. Professor Glushko's current research interests include document engineering and information policy, and he teaches courses in document engineering, XML, and model-based user interfaces.
