In a previous life I worked in health economics policy, and during that time I started looking for ways to take a more data-based approach to my work. I initially landed on actuarial science, which took me on a 3 year detour where I worked in insurance and got certified as an actuary, only to realize that data science was what I had been looking for all along. Now I'm a MIDS student and working as an analyst at a tech company.
