Emily Lopez

I am interested in using data science and science communication methods to develop and advance creative projects where a desire to amplify and support the needs of marginalized groups is at the heart of our work.

I've applied and strengthened my research skills by working on independent and team projects, like developing and leading an original, creative, and participatory research project on campus mental health. I've also utilized my expertise in data science as a data science intern with organizations like Quest Diagnostics and ClimateAI. Lastly, I've honed my project management skills as a program coordinator with the AmeriCorps nonprofit organization, Reading Partners.

I want to work on meaningful projects where I can use my technical and creative background, my perspective as a first-generation Guatemalan American, and my desire to help our community members.
