Biography
I plan to complete the UC Berkeley MICS program while living in Arlington, VA. I studied at George Washington University and graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. I am a father of two and have a fantastic and very understanding wife. I have been happily married for over 20 years. My hobbies are watching my favorite sports teams from Philadelphia, working out, and playing pickleball with my family and friends.
I have over twenty years of experience as a cybersecurity solutions architect, designing and implementing systems to prevent cyber threats for the United States Department of Defense, educational institutions, and commercial companies. I started working as a network engineer, implementing multiprotocol networks transitioning from mainframes to TCP/IP solutions. After designing networks, I became engaged in network security technologies and started designing and implementing systems to address cyber threats.
My interest in the UC Berkeley MICS program comes from my work as a Cybersecurity Architect. The systems I designed provide controls that produce valuable information. I have been implementing techniques to analyze the data generated by these systems to provide capabilities to thwart future attacks. My interest in the UC Berkeley MICS Program is to improve these skills and learn policy to become more effective in designing systems that protect valuable data and the users accessing the information.
