Biography

Dr. Sebastian Benthall applies computational social science techniques to problems in software accountability, information technology policy, and AI ethics. He is a Senior Research Fellow at the Information Law Institute at New York University School of Law, and a Research Scientist at the International Computer Science Institute. His work has been supported by the National Science Foundation, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and the Microsoft Corporation. He is External Faculty a member of the External Faculty of the Agent Based Modeling Lab at New York University. He holds a PhD in Information Management and Systems from UC Berkely, and a BA in Cognitive Sciene from Brown University.
