Dr. Lynn Wilcox is Director of Research and Project Leader of the Smart Environments project at FX Palo Alto Laboratory. Her current research interests are in audio and video editing, indexing, and retrieval. She worked at Xerox PARC for 10 years on various projects involving audio and image wordspotting and segmentation. Before PARC, she worked at Hewlett Packard Laboratories developing a speech recognition system for personal computers. She has twenty-two patents in audio and image technologies, and has published a number of papers. She received a Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences from Rice University.
