Info 247 provides an overview of the field of information visualization. It follows a hands-on approach. Readings and lectures cover basic visualization principles and tools. Labs focus on practical introductions to tools and frameworks. The class discusses existing visualizations and critique their effectiveness in conveying information. Finally, guest speakers from the industry give an insight into how information visualization is used in practice.
