In 1918 UC Berkeley began a full-time program in library science. Join us for this year’s celebration of the founding and history of the School of Information, School of Information Management and Systems, School of Library and Information Studies, and School of Librarianship.

Presentations

I School Ph.D. student Lucy Li will discuss her innovative research using natural language processing to analyze gender, race, and ethnicity content in textbooks.

Librarian Susan Hildreth, MLS will give an overview of the extraordinary career of School of Librarianship alumna Regina Minudri, MLS ’59 (1937–2021).

Professor Hany Farid, associate dean and head of the School of Information, will discuss his work on deepfakes and misinformation.
