Building a Company and Venture Capital Investing: An Open Discussion (Part 4: Next Steps)

Friday, April 18, 2025
11:15 am - 12:30 pm

This four-part in-person series will be a discussion-heavy introduction to building a company and venture capital investing. Discussion topics include but are not limited to:

  • corporate venture capital vs venture capital,
  • building a great product vs. building a great business,
  • product market fit (PMF),
  • go to market (GTM),
  • pitching to investors, and
  • exit options.

The main purpose of this series is to provide general education. Thus, if you have an idea for a startup or are already working on building a company, you are invited to join but there will not necessarily be a discreet opportunity for you to pitch your idea nor any promise of funding.

This event will be held in person, and will not be streamed or recorded.

Participants must attend all four sessions:

Friday, February 7, 2025

Part 2: Company Building Blocks

Part 3: Investor Considerations

Part 4: Next Steps

Philip Braddock is the portfolio management lead for Atlassian Ventures, where he supports founders as they build the future of collaborative work on the cloud. Philip is passionate about connecting with people in ways that are truly meaningful (not just tactical). He never hesitates to get up in front of a crowd, which his wife finds both admirable and embarrassing. When not at work, you can find him spending time with his family, traveling to new places or swimming, biking, running, or skiing — his own personal “quad-athalon”. Philip holds a BA in political science from Vassar College and a master’s in information management and systems from the School of Information at UC Berkeley.
