Freelance UX Researcher (A3 Ventures)

A3 Ventures needs the help of a Freelance UX Researcher.  

We have an immediate need starting with 40 hours of work per week, over two months.  If it goes well this will likely expand into ongoing work with the possibility of a full-time position. 

Needs include:

– Discovering and revealing customer motivations,  behaviors and needs via primary research.

– Applying research to evaluate designs and hypotheses for new product development.

– Working with team stakeholders and corporate insights team to recruit respondents and schedule tests.

– Collaboratively synthesizing results to derive useful knowledge. Effectively conveying those learnings among business stakeholders, designers and engineers to achieve product success and to win happy customers.

– Working with stakeholders to determine, document and prioritize product research needs – and to recommend the fastest, most efficient and most effective methods for serving those needs.

Requirements:

– Well versed in the fundamentals and best practices of user centered research and design.

– Experience running and synthesizing results from small user tests.

– Able to work onsite using your own laptop in downtown Berkeley, California.

– Experience working in an Agile/Lean startup environment.  Experience with design sprints.

– Strong collaborator, proficient advocating for user centered design, and working with:

– Business stakeholders.

– Product designers.

– Quantitative researchers.

– Developers who implement your designs.

– Marketing professionals.

– Visual designers.

– Customers.

Preferred:

– Bachelor's Degree (or higher) with a focus in Psychology, Anthropology, Design or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

– More than three years of professional experience as a UX researcher.

– A sense of humor and a driving need to make the world a better place
