Lead Prototype Developer (All Turtles)

As a Lead Prototype Developer in the All Turtles San Francisco studio, you’ll be the tech lead on a small team working together to rapidly create new software products that use machine learning to solve real problems for real people. You will not simply be implementing something that’s already been spec’d. Rather, you’ll drive the direction of an early-stage product, taking it from idea to launch and owning the problem you’re trying to solve. As part of All Turtles, you’ll be surrounded by world-class experts who have done this all before and know the pitfalls that typically cause early products to fail.

You’re the right person for this job if you love to work on small, autonomous teams to create new things from scratch, take pride in the quality of the user experiences that you create, and are comfortable working in any part of the stack.

You'll be responsible for:

• Working on a close-knit team that jointly owns the vision for their product and believes that it will improve the world
• Rapidly taking an idea from concept to launch and beyond
• Applying your experience to define the overall product architecture, choosing the tech stack, and contributing to all aspects of development
• Creating and managing the development schedule and doing what it takes to reach your team’s goals

Ideally, you'll have:

• Built complex products from scratch, including web and/or mobile applications, APIs, and backends. You’re a full-stack developer who’s comfortable doing whatever needs to be done on the team
• Delivered on ambitious goals. At the end of the day, you’re a doer
• Worked in a startup environment. You’re comfortable with ambiguity and change
• Worked on projects that are user-centric. You’re passionate about making products that real people will find indispensable. You also have good product intuition
• Applied machine learning experience is a plus but not required
