Academic Professional Track Faculty - Department of Visualization (College of Architecture - Texas A&M University)

The Department of Visualization at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, invites applications for an academic professional track position with interests in all areas of the art and science of visualization; areas of particular interest include environmental modeling and simulation, computer graphics, animation, visual arts, aesthetics, visual storytelling, data visualization, interaction design and game development. This new hire is expected to join our faculty in 2019.

The Department of Visualization supports a vigorous interdisciplinary blend of the visual arts and the related visual and imaging sciences and technology. Academic programs include the B.S., M.S., and MFA in Visualization, with over 400 students. Our mission is the development and implementation of emerging methods for enhancing understanding and gaining insight through visual means in teaching, research, and creative work that impacts future directions of the field. Academic Professional Track position include the titles of Lecturer / Instructional / Professor of Practice. Responsibilities for these positions include teaching primarily at the undergraduate level with case-dependent opportunities for graduate level pedagogy, service to the department, university and field, and outreach to industry.

Qualifications

Academic Professional Track positions a terminal degree is preferred but candidates with an MS or MA is a related field and significant teaching and/or professional experience will be considered.
