Description

UC Berkeley’s University Health Services (UHS) provides fully accredited primary medical care, sports medicine, mental health, innovative health promotion and health insurance services to students, as well as a variety of faculty and staff health programs and services. The Clinical Services Program within UHS includes urgent care, primary care and specialty clinics, laboratory, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, and a major medical insurance plan. Approximately 70,000 visits occur annually including Primary Care, Urgent Care, Occupational Health and Specialty Clinics.  These visits generate ancillary encounters with the Radiology, Clinical Laboratory, Physical Therapy and Pharmacy departments.  The Counseling and Psychological Services department sees an additional 40,000 visits per year. Additionally, the Optometry Clinic is open to the broader Berkeley community with more than 50,000 optometric visits annually. Learn more at uhs.berkeley.edu

 

Healthcare IT provides and manages a comprehensive suite of technology services, infrastructure, healthcare systems, and specialized medical equipment that support both the UHS and Optometry Clinic operations. These include: Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management systems and applications, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology and medical imaging, and optometric systems. Healthcare IT manages in excess of 50 physical and virtual servers, providing a high-degree of redundancy and system security. The healthcare systems we manage are complex and tightly integrated with other campus systems. These systems process and store highly-sensitive data including protected and regulated health information. Healthcare IT directly supports more than 500 desktop workstations and 500+ network nodes for more than 750 staff members and volunteers.

 

The Systems Analyst Supervisor will:

  • Supervise the development of methods and procedures on new assignments and provide leadership to other members of department.
  • Provide specialized expertise to identify, evaluate and develop systems and procedures to meet users' needs.
  • Create highly technical specifications for systems with broad impact.
  • Supervise unit integration and acceptance testing activities.
  • Oversee cross-functional teams to solve complex business or systems issues.
  • Communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Understand business needs and how business systems can support those needs.
  • Participate in developing and monitoring operational and budget processes, staff FTE, finance, human resources and space planning.
  • Participate in the development and monitoring of policies and procedures for department or department operations.
  • Recommend hiring of new employees, salary actions, terminations, and performance ratings.
