U-M Presidential Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program (University of Michigan School of Information)

Job Title

U-M Presidential Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program

Company

University of Michigan School of Information

Description

The University of Michigan School of Information invites applicants for the U-M Presidential Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program (PPFP). Faculty at UMSI have a successful record of providing a nurturing and productive post-doctoral experience for Presidential Post-Doctoral Fellows. In keeping with the PPFP program, we are interested in future colleagues who engage in research in the broad field of information and whose research addresses the needs of groups that have been historically underserved by academic research. This includes:

  • Applicants with the potential to bring to their academic research the critical perspective that comes from their understanding of the experiences of groups historically underrepresented in higher education or underserved by academic research generally;
  • Applicants in science, technology, engineering and math fields who can articulate how their research has the potential to serve the needs of groups that have been historically underserved by academic research;
  • Applicants who, in addition to their primary field of interest in math, science, engineering and technology fields, have the potential to make research contributions to understanding the barriers facing members of groups who have been historically underrepresented in these fields in higher education.
  • Applicants in any field who have research interests focusing on underserved populations and understanding issues of racial or gender inequalities.

University of Michigan School of Information views these postdoctoral fellowships as providing an exceptional opportunity to recruit potential new faculty to the University by offering the possibility of either a postdoc alone or a combined postdoc and tenure track faculty appointment.

In addition to the materials required by the U-M PPFP, applicants to UMSI must submit the following materials to Interfolio by October 15. Please note that some of these materials duplicate those to be submitted to the U-M application system.

How to Apply

Applicants must submit TWO separate applications: one to the President’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (PPFP) site and a second directly to the School of Information (UMSI) site. PPFP requirements are listed on their site.
