Description

Sebastian ErraZuriz is looking for motivated, inventive, curious and serious designers / developers / creative to join our international team in New York for a 3 to 6 months internship. 

Sebastian Errazuriz is a prolific artist, designer and activist. Tackling everything from political artworks to giant public art projects, conceptual sculptures to experimental furniture and product design, his work is always surprising and compelling, inviting the viewer to look again at realities that were often hidden in front of their own eyes. Blurring the boundaries between contemporary art, design, craft and technology, his exclusive masterpieces are exhibited and sold internationally. 

Internship:

The team is currently working a series of new projects including public art installation, new exhibitions, high-end furniture, interior design, products, conceptual artworks and social-political works etc.

The studio is constantly working on several commissioned pieces for museums, collectors, fairs, and collaborations with established brands for special projects.

We are also developing a series of technology based projects including public art installations, mobile applications, web platforms, bots, video series, and social-political works.

Interns participate to the process from research, fabrication, documentation and production of works to communication materials.

The studio is based Industry City, Brooklyn, NY and the lab is in South Bronx, New York. We work in a large studio space where we fabricate and develop all of our pieces between the wood workshop, creative studio, tech lab, prototyping area and photo/video area.

Internship is unpaid. Interns work 8:30am – 2:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Requirements:

  • Education in either Design, Product Design, Architecture, Graphic design, and Art or Craft with programming experience, Computer Science or related field. New graduates welcome.
  • Applicants must be organized, detail-oriented, reliable and motivated.

Useful skills:

  • Ability to use Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
  • 3d Modeling / Rendering skills (3ds Max/Rhino etc.)
  • Basic photo / video knowledge (shooting / editing etc.)
  • Carpentry / woodworking
  • Prototyping (using mainly 3d printers)
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies, platforms, and languages
  • Front-end / Back-end experience
  • Arduino / Raspberry Pi
  • 3d printing and relevant software
  • HTML / CSS / JavaScript
  • Git
