Hal Varian receives honorary doctorate from the University of Karlsruhe

On Wednesday, February 1st, 2006 former dean Hal Varian received an honorary doctorate from the University of Karlsruhe, Karlsruhe, Germany. The doctorate cited his work in the economics of information and other accomplishments. During this visit, Professor Varian also attended the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where he spoke on global risk management, and attended the OECD conference on digital content in Rome, where he spoke on intellectual property challenges.
