U.C. Berkeley - Stanford Team Wins Social Venture Contest
A team of students from U.C.-Berkeley and Stanford University bested a record 850 other entrants to win the Global Social Venture Competition, held April 8 at the Haas School of Business at U.C.-Berkeley.
NextDrop won the top prize of $25,000 for designing a mobile platform that helps residents of Indian cities, in particular women, save time when waiting for water to arrive by truck or through a communal tap....
NextDrop team members include Ashish Jhina, Thejovardhana Kote, Anu Sridharan and Madhusudhan B.
Jhina, a second year MBA student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, has B.S. and M.S. degrees in biochemical engineering and biotechnology from IIT-Delhi. He also worked as a management consultant for The Boston Consulting Group in India and the U.S.
Kote, a second year master’s degree student at U.C.-Berkeley’s information school, has a B.S. in electrical and electronics engineering from Visveswaraiah Technological University....
