Fact Check: AI images of flooded Disney World spread online

Images shared on social media of a flooded Disney World in Florida are AI-generated, according to experts and forensic analyses.
The park said it closed on Oct. 9 given the looming threat of Hurricane Milton, which has since thrashed Florida and killed at least 17 people...
Hany Farid, a digital forensics expert at the University of California, Berkeley, said in an email that their models determined the images to be likely AI-generated.
He added: “These three images are (not very good) AI-generated images.
“There are tell-tale and obvious structural defects in all images including inconsistent reflections in the water...”
Hany Farid is a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences and the School of Information at UC Berkeley and a senior advisor to the Counter Extremism Project.
