Carl Illustrisimo

I study Data Science within the School of Information. Currently, I am also exploring critical ways of engaging with computing through Science and Technology Studies and New Media. 

I am a member of the New Media Working Group, where I explore questions at the intersection of technology, media, and society-- and the Public Policy Data Lab, where I am currently researching the role automaticity plays in algorithmic bias by recommender systems under Professor Diag Davenport.  I also contribute as a student educator for the OSKI Tech Open Computing Lab, where alongside a wonderful team of educators and fellow grad students I teach various technical skills (currently planning lessons on Python).
