Biography

One time adventurer, father of two, husband to a college professor, and lover of learning.

My work is focused on helping leaders conceptualize and make good decisions. I am especially interested in the interface between data and the interpretations made by actual humans in practice.

I teach the research design fundamentals class (Research Design and Applications for Data and Analysis, DATASCI 201) and Experiments and Causal Inference (DATASCI 241) in the Master of Information and Data Science (MIDS) program and consult.  I've lately been working with Pinterest to support their product analytics, data science, and experimentation initiatives.

I received my Master of Information and Data Science at the I School at UC Berkeley, my MBA at Western Governors University, my Six Sigma Black Belt from the American Society for Quality (ASQ), and my BS in psychology at UC Davis. Before Berkeley, I spent 20 years in the field practicing and managing teams in strategic planning and data analysis.
