Biography
Denis Vrdoljak is an expert Data Scientist, corporate trainer, and university instructor. He combines a wealth of industry experience in machine learning automation, data science architecture, natural language processing (NLP), and graph databases. He regularly presents his work at conferences, and offers corporate training to F100 and F500 clients.
At Santa Clara University (SCU), Denis currently teaches Python programming and leads graduate capstone projects in NLP and Machine Vision. Prior to joining Santa CLara University, Denis was faculty at UC Berkeley where he contributed to the Python for Data Science graduate program, which has since become the prerequisite for the Data Science master’s programs at the School of Information.
In his corporate training experience, Denis works with some of the most recognizable names in the tech, finance, and communications industries, and has a wide range of expertise training data engineering, big data, and data science/machine learning curricula.
During his tenure at Cisco, Denis helped the Marketing Analytics BU, and subsequently the Engineering Operations BU, migrate their data science programs to cloud and hybrid cloud architectures, establishing standards and best practices that junior data scientists followed. He also regularly held internal workshops for the Cisco Data Science community, where he was awarded the Data Science Practitioner certification.
