Biography

Maya Duru is a Senior Evaluator with the Office of Evaluation Sciences in the U.S. General Services Administration. She works on projects focused on equitable economic recovery, reducing barriers to accessing government programs, workforce development, and international aid, among others. She uses a range of methods including randomized evaluations, quasi-experimental methods, machine learning, and qualitative methods. She previously worked as the Associate Director for Education at the Latif Abdul Jameel Poverty Action Lab at MIT. Maya earned a PhD in Political Science from UC San Diego, an MSc in Agricultural & Resource Economics from UC Davis, and a BA in Development from UC Berkeley.
