Been working on ETL pipelines for Solar Mosaic for about the last over 1 year now and would love to understand about the actual science behind the data analysis.

My first exposure to Big Data was while working at Google on a project using star schema to build their internal data warehouse for supply chain system. The ability to see data at that close a range and be able to see the reporting requirements a correct data schema can fulfill invoked in me the thirst to gain in depth knowledge of predictive data analysis. I believe, that with my educational background of a Masters in Business Management with Specialization in Information Technology and Operations Research, along with about 12 years of industry experience in the field of information technology, a postgraduate study in the department of predictive analysis will be a very valuable addition to my academic mission and a major step towards achieving my career goals.

I am convinced that with the help of knowledge gained through this program I will be more efficient in analyzing data and pivoting policy directions for best resource usage of the organizations I work with. With this, I hope not only to advance my career in the right direction but also to help Solar Mosaic, my current organization, make better analytics based decisions to help them grow faster and be a small but essential cog in making the world a cleaner, more energy efficient planet for the future generations.

Educational Background:

I completed my Master in Business Management with Specialization in IT and OR in 2002 with a First Class, scoring 71% (and a placement of second rank for my degree batch). The Master’s program had a good combination of statistics, research analytics and object oriented coding courses; pivoting me for a future in Information Technology with a focus towards data analytics. I obtained both my Masters and Bachelors (St Xavier’s College, Calcutta) degrees from Calcutta University post a 12-year school program where I scored 89% in my high school ISC exams (Delhi board). In addition, I have completed various technical certifications to gain knowledge of relational databases, object oriented languages and reporting tools: including Oracle Certified Professional, Sun Certified Programmer and Sun Certified Web Component Developer amongst others.
