R.U.M. - Recognizing Unsafe Motions

Research shows that people don’t realize they are impaired up to 50% of the time when they are drunk. We have developed R.U.M., an easy-to-use iOS application that can generate a binary measurement of alcohol impairment. The app reads in accelerometer data and outputs whether or not a user is impaired by forecasting if they are above or below a .08 BAC. Our goal is to empower users to assess their impairment levels without having to purchase or carry around a breathalyzer.
