Our team opened a dialogue with East Bay Center for the Blind and LightHouse for the Blind to see how we could apply our newly mintd Data Science skills to help people who are blind live more self determined lives.  We found out that many appliances in the kitchen we very difficult for blind people to use, and essentially off limits.  Our team devised and engineerd a Raspberry Pi based solution that employs computer vision and a neural network to help blind users operate the keypads of microwave ovens.  We went back to test with the users and made further refinements
